Architectural design of semester 5 was to understand designing commercial building with respect to an urban context. Various aspects like potential of site, site analysis, site circulations, services, etc. were studied. It was the first time we designed an underground basement. We were supposed to do case studies of malls and clubhouses and concluded designing a mall along with some recreational activities. Some of the constraints we were initially given were to design all spaces as naturally ventilated, considerations of fire services, area constraints, etc. Everyone enjoyed experimenting with different building forms and creating modern interior spaces and attractive facades.
